Pupils are invited to visit the Road Laboratory of the SJSC “Latvian State Roads”, in Riga
SJSC “Latvian State Roads” offers pupils of Latvian comprehensive schools to take a free excursion to the Road Laboratory.
In the laboratory children will be able to observe how road construction materials – sand, chippings, gravel, bitumen, etc. – are tested with different equipment.
If a school provides transportation for its pupils, we can organize a visit to some test site outside Riga with laboratory experts. Together they can measure evenness, roughness, bearing capacity of a road.
The Road Laboratory is located at 1a Rencēnu Street, Riga.
Preferable time for excursions: working days from 10.00 to 16.00.
Excursion can be arranged for one class at a time. Length of the excursion is approximately 1 – 2 hours.
In the end pupils will receive a comic strip “How three friends conquered the Roadcruncher”.
